While working for a Christian radio station,I sold advertising packages leading up to a Steven Curtis Chapman concert. My sales lead to a scholarship through Shaohannah's Hope for one family to adopt an orphan child. Throughout the concert Steven Curtis shared his heart for orphans.I later discovered that I could compete in running races while representing Running Hope. I am proud to wear my Running Hope race uniform and support the call to reach out to orphans. Our family now helps support two orphan girls in an orphanage in Uganda.
The vision to support orphans keeps growing. On September 20th in Durango, Colorado, there will a running race to raise money and awareness for orphans throughout the world.I started this project in motion and I am the race director of the River Run For Orphans.
We plan to have over 30 churches participating from Colorado and New Mexico. Each church's walkers and runners will raise their own support and that money will go to the orphan project they already support. We will also have an event prior to the run to raise money for the local shelter and womens safe house. This event will have me sleeping on a roof of a local business for a couple of nights.
God has also lead me to start an online coaching service called Endurance Fellowship. Our motto is "Glorify God and Serve Others Through Athletics". I am looking to develop a team of runners, cyclists, and triathletes that will use athletics to serve the Kingdom.
May God bless those in need locally and internationally. Thanks to vision of Steven Curtis Chapman lives will be changed and God will be glorified. His vision has changed my life and those of my family.
