Change for Orphans goes "Live in This Moment"
The Change for Orphans campaign joined Steven Curtis Chapman’s 07/08 “Live In This Moment” nationwide concert tour. The movement asked for all concert goers to collect loose change and bring it to the concerts. The change collected at each show was then donated to assist a local family in the process of adopting an orphan. Thanks to all who participated, over $340,000 was raised to help change the lives of over 100 orphans all around the globe!
Houston Shows Hope
Due to the local efforts of radio station KSBJ and Casa Olé Mexican Restaurants, over $16,000 was raised at the Houston concert. KSBJ Radio heavily promoted the “Change for Orphans” efforts, while Casa Olé Mexican Restaurants partnered with the station, putting buckets at their 18 Houston locations and collecting an amazing $3,500. This was the most successful “Change for Orphans” campaign of the tour and shows just what can happen when people come together to help change an orphan’s world.
Santa Mall Photos Celebrate Success
Shaohannah’s Hope is still celebrating the spirit of Christmas thanks to the major success of the Santa Mall Photos campaign, raising $85,000 this past December from 175 participating malls nationwide. With the support of WorldWide Photography, IPI and SEPIA Photos, efforts were launched with their mall partners that gave patrons who took pictures with Santa the opportunity to support adoption by giving to Shaohannah’s Hope. The Santa Mall Photos program has raised an astonishing $150,000 in just two years, helping 60 orphans find a forever family!
St. Louis Sharathon Assists Special Needs Orphans
Shaohannah’s Hope recently partnered with JOY-FM Radio/St. Louis, a listener supported station that donated airtime for the Sharathon. An amazing 581 calls were received from radio listeners, and in just 12 hours a total of $53,906.99 was pledged for Shaohannah’s Hope. The money raised is specifically going to help care for special needs orphans in China, helping finance medical expenses and surgical needs.
